This is a 5MP (5 million pixels) autofocus camera module based on the OV5640 chip compatible with ESP32. It supports the MIPI CSI interface and has a built-in ISP (image signal processing).

OV5640 image sensor

High performance: using CMOS image sensors produced by OmniVision (OmniVision Technology), low power consumption, high reliability, and fast acquisition speed.

5 million pixels (5MP)

High pixel: The OV5640 photosensitive array reaches 2624×1964, which can achieve 5 million pixel image acquisition.

Autofocus

With autofocus function (AF), the image clarity can be ensured.

MIPI CSI multi-interface support

Supports MIPI CSI interface, and may also support DVP CSI interface (please refer to the module specification for details).

Built-in ISP

Integrated image signal processing function can reduce the workload of the main processor and improve image processing efficiency.

Compatible with ESP32, can be used for ESP32 camera module

Interface matching: As a popular microcontroller, ESP32 usually supports a variety of camera interfaces. Since the DGZX-HDF5640AF-MIPI-V2.0 module supports MIPI CSI interface, and ESP32 also supports MIPI interface (depending on the model and configuration of ESP32), the two are compatible in terms of interface.
Power and voltage requirements: ESP32 and OV5640 modules usually require 3.3V power supply, which makes them also matched in terms of power requirements.
Software development: ESP32 has rich software development resources and libraries, including drivers and APIs for cameras. Developers can use these resources to write drivers for the DGZX-HDF5640AF-MIPI-V2.0 module to implement image acquisition, processing and other functions.
